Entrance exam procedures for applicants with disabilities
The University of Vienna conducts entrance exam procedures for certain degree programmes. A written test is to be taken as part of these procedures. Please reach out to us if a disability or impairment requires an adaptation of these tests to your needs. If a disability impairs your participation in these tests, the University of Vienna will accommodate your needs and adapt the testing procedures accordingly.
Each type of disability is unique. Thus, adaptations to testing will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Example: adapted entrance exam procedures in a smaller testing venue
- After the application period you will be informed via e-mail, whether the written part of the entrance exam procedure for your desired degree program will take place. No later than 14 days prior to the exam date, you will receive an e-mail containing your invitation to the entrance exam (“Einlassbestätigung”) and a layout plan of the testing venue. This e-mail will also contain details about the items you are allowed to have with you during the exam.
- The invitation will also tell you the time frame in which the exam will take place, as well as your assigned entry point to the testing centre. After your identity was verified, you will be escorted to your testing venue.
- Upon arriving at the testing venue, you will be given a couple of minutes to accommodate yourself. Once the exam procedures begin, the test administrators will announce the instructions, including all the details regarding the examination process. Next, the exam materials will be handed out and the exact starting and ending time of the exam will be announced. There will be at least one supervisor present at your testing venue throughout the duration of the exam.
- Upon conclusion, the exam materials will be collected and their integrity verified. At the end, we will escort you back to the exit.
- Once all exams have been evaluated, you will receive an e-mail informing you about your next steps in the admission process.
