The bachelor's programme in Meteorology and Climate Science consists of an Introductory and Orientation Period (STEOP) and compulsory modules on the fields of physics, computer science, meteorology, climatology and related scientific fields. To complete the programme, students have to write a bachelor’s thesis.

After Graduation
Following a subject-specific introduction, graduates can work in the following fields:
- weather forecasting services of print or broadcast media (radio and television)
- public offices (e.g. Environment Agency Austria, warning services of the Austrian federal provinces)
- insurance industry and
- universities and public/private research institutions, supporting academic staff.
As the bachelor’s programme places a strong focus on electronic data processing and programming on various platforms and aims at developing an analytical-logical mindset, graduates will also have good chances of employment outside the discipline of meteorology.
