Bachelor programmes with compulsory OSA
EU/EEA secondary-school leaving certificate and citizenship
- Complete the Online-Self-Assessment (OSA) of the desired degree programme. Afterwards you receive your OSA code, which you will need in the further procedure.
- Apply for admission to the degree programme you would like to study additionally within the application period. Choose the desired degree programme in u:space > Studies > Apply for admission and upload the required documents. Documents that were already confirmed by the Admission Office (status "confirmed") do not need to be uploaded again. Enter your OSA code.
Check the status of your application in u:space under "My application". This status has to be "application submitted". - Starting from the beginning of the admission period, you will be automatically admitted to the additional degree programme within five working days. Check the status of your admission in u:space > Study overview. If you have not been admitted within this timeframe, please contact the Admission Office via the Servicedesk.
Non-EU/EEA secondary-school leaving certificate
- Complete the Online-Self-Assessment (OSA) of the desired degree programme. Afterwards you receive your OSA code, which you will need in the further procedure.
- Apply for admission to the degree programme you would like to study additionally within the application period. Choose the desired degree programme in u:space > Studies > Apply for admission and upload the required documents. Documents that were already confirmed by the Admission Office (status "confirmed") do not need to be uploaded again. Enter your OSA code.
Check the status of your application in u:space under "My application". This status has to be "application submitted". - You can be admitted to the new degree programme if you fulfil all requirements. You will receive an admission letter to your u:account e-mail address after a processing time of few weeks (webmail.univie.ac.at). You can also find the admission letter in u:space > Personal matters > My documents.
- The admission does not ensue automatically. Message us via the Servicedesk after you have received your admission letter. Indicate which degree programme you would like to be admitted to. After a few working days, the new degree programme will be visible in u:space > Study overview. You will also receive a confirmation via e-mail.
Deadlines EU/EEA/CH citizenship
The following deadlines apply for EU/EEA/CH citizens and groups of persons according to the Decree on Groups of Persons.
Summer semester 2025:

Bachelor/diploma programmes with entrance exam procedure
EU/EEA secondary-school leaving certificate
Entrance exam procedures only take place once per academic year (before the winter semester). The entrance exam procedure for bachelor and diploma programmes is only valid for the winter and summer semester following the procedure. The successfully completed entrance exam procedure for the bachelor programme in Teacher Education it is valid indefinitely.
- Complete the Online-Self-Assessment (OSA) of the desired degree programme. Afterwards you receive your OSA code, which you will need in the further procedure.
- Apply for admission to the degree programme you would like to study additionally within the application period. Choose the desired degree programme in u:space > Studies > Apply for admission and upload the required documents. Documents that were already confirmed by the Admission Office (status "confirmed") do not need to be uploaded again. Enter your OSA code.
Check the status of your application in u:space under "My application". This status has to be "application submitted". Only then you are registered for the entrance exam procedure. - Participate in the entrance exam.
- An admission to the degree programme is only possible after you have successfully participated in the entrance exam procedure.
- Message us via the Servicedesk after the results have been announced. Indicate which degree programme you would like to be admitted to. After a few working days you will see the new degree programme in u:space > Study overview. You will also receive a confirmation via e-mail.
The sporting aptitude admission test takes place twice per year. Therefore, the application for admission to the bachelor programme in Sport Science is also possible before the summer semester. Please note the applicable application and admission deadlines.

Submit your application for admission within the application period for non-EU/EEA citizens. Follow the steps for changing your degree programme with secondary-school leaving certificate and citizenship from an EU/EEA country. In this way, your admission to an additional degree programme can be conducted earlier and faster – and you can start your new degree programme in a less stressful way.
You can prove that you belong to a group of persons according to the Decree on Groups of Persons? If this is the case, you can also submit your application within the application period for EU/EEA citizens. Submit the proof of belonging to a group of persons. The admission to the additional degree programme will take longer, as your application must be processed individually, and you have to wait for your admission letter. With this letter you will also receive the info you need to complete the admission to the additional degree programme.
